Summer Camp Entries – Part 5: Thursday
Hey guys!! 🙂
Today was the fourth full day, and I finally woke up at a normal time —not too late, not too early —and honestly, I wish I had slept in more. I got up and followed my regular routine: skincare, finding an outfit, and makeup. After that, we all went to breakfast, which again was good as always. I forgot to journal on Thursday, so I’m going to try to piece it together as best as I can. 🫡
After breakfast, we had some time to prepare for our next activity, but our leaders wouldn’t tell us what it was… (In their defense, they weren’t allowed to, so it’s oke. ❤️) While getting ready, they said something about wearing closed-toe shoes, which just made me worry about what was to come. We had to walk across the camp to get there, which was pleasant because it was a nice day, and when we got close, it was pretty obvious what we were doing… the ropes course!
For the course, there were 3 different levels: easy, medium, and hard. My friend and I went with easy because to do level 3, they said you need to be able to do a pull-up. (I couldn’t do one of those even if I wanted to, and I don’t.) I was a little nervous at first since I had a fear of heights, but it wasn’t too bad. 🙂 It was pretty fun and, honestly, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. 😊
After that, we probably had some free time where I just read some more, drew, and talked with my friend. I was so close to finishing my book (so close!), but then we had an event to go to. If I remember correctly, we went to club (which was awesome as always), then walked out behind the club building and watched them perform a scene for us (which was their way of announcing what we were going to do next). I never knew there was so much to learn about corndogs… it was actually quite entertaining, I won’t lie.
After that, we went to dinner and then went back to our cabins to change for an event in the gym court thingy (it’s been a while since I’ve been in a gym, or court, or whatever, I forgot at this point). There was cotton candy and lots of people. Fun, but not for me because there were a little too many people. Watching the different leaders get pied was really fun, though. My friend and I kind of just stayed off to the side, overthinking how single we were. 😑
So far, it was fun and all, until I figured out that the last event of the night (it was already like 10:00 pm by the way) was square dancing. All the girls and guys were randomly paired up, and the guy I was with was nice, but it was still soo (I meant the two o’s by the way) awkward. I was never meant to dance. Not happening.
From what I remember, we headed back to the cabin after that and got ready for bed. That was one of the longest days for me; we stayed up well past midnight. Very eventful, but it was a day I’ll never forget! ♡
See ya later! 🙂
