Poem 1: Desire ♡

18th of December, 2025

~

Looking at the world on fire,

Brings to me a kindling desire.

They say it’s fine,

All of the filthy liars.

High on their reflections,

They favor playing with fire.

Innocent families,

By ruin are for hire

By the schemers, some call sire.

This brings to me

A burning desire.

If we could all just unite

And Extinguish these

Fires.

  1. Good job! Enjoyed and empathize with topic. One rhyme seems slightly forced — can you see which one? Please take a moment and look before I mention it in the next paragraph.

I am guessing you found it. Or maybe it sounds okay for you, and I am wrong. . For me, the use of “sire” seems to be introduced just to rhyme with “hire.” Can you think of alternatives to make poem.even stronger?

    1. Thank you for the feedback! It made sense to me at the time, but now that I think about it, I can see that it might sound a bit forced. I’ll adjust this in my notes, thank you! 🙂
